I’ve seen countless reports now about the have-they or haven’t- they sale saga at Newcastle United. Fine but when leading blogs harp on and on about the lack of activity , it all feeds the general feeling of frustration I think. My rule is if there’s nothing to report why piss off everybody by putting out an article telling everyone there is nothing to report! Sorry guys, there is seriously no news on the sale front and that is that.

Anyway, Carling Cup draw dealt us Huddersfield as our first opponents. Many of you will remember that we managed to beat the earlier in the summer pre-season friendlies. Our second round Carling cup campaign will commence week beginning 24th August.

In the meantime, prepartions continue for the Championship match against Reading this weekend. Attendence at St James’ Park is expected to be much less then when we were in the Premiership. We could see attendence to be around 30,000 with Mike Ashley expected to oversee the match.
