About
Newcastle United Blogger was created by Dave, an avid Newcastle fan. This blog is the product of some turbulent times at St James’ Park which energized the author to finally take the plunge into writing about our beloved club. Initially starting off as articles on a popular MySpace profile, it soon became clear a bigger platform was needed. Although you’ll probably not find minute by minute match analysis in here (let’s face it, loads of other sites do this!), I’d hope you find this blog an entertaining read with witty insights and also a few rants thrown in for good measure.
Please feel free to put comments on any issues raised or if you feel you have a point to get off your chest. This is as much your blog as it is mine. Feedback always welcomed. Or even place a comment good or bad.
The day is 25th July 2007. The club had been bought out by Mike Ashley, a billionaire who sold sports gear and we had taken Sam Allardyce as manager after suffering a poor finish under Glen Roeder. From St James’ Park walked away a loney beleaguered man. This man is Freddy Shepherd, the now ex-chariman of Newcastle United FC. After 15 years at the club overseeing the team and managers been and gone, his chapter was finally closed without so much as a fanfare. This is the day that Newcastle United Blogger begins to follow the glory (or the disasters) for years to come.
