Newcastle United Still Flying High

By Dave NU Blogger | September 20, 2011

Much to the surprise of some, Newcastle United has made its strongest start for five years in the Premiership. As yet, Newcastle remain undefeated although a string of draws won’t keep us in contention for the top 4 placement for long. Leon Best popped in the only goal for us over the weekend saving us a point against a strong Villa side. We’ve also been impressed with Cabaye doing his duty in midfield and almost knocking in a goal on Saturday. A great signing so far.

The good start doesn’t exactly mean it will be plain sailing all the way. This weekend sees the Mags against Blackburn who won decisively against a weaker Arsenal. We’ll have the home support behind us but it’ll be no push over.

Tonight also sees us in action against Forest. The news is that Ben Arfa makes a return after the horror tackle which left him missing most of last season. Let’s hope he has a stellar match and show us some of the massive potential he obviously has.

With the Barton saga now firmly behind us, we can start to concentrate on the game and with some faith remain in the top 10 this season.

Great to see the toon army still flying high, Yohan Cabaye is an absolute class act.
