Christmas White Wash
Saturday, December 18th, 2010Premiership games around the country were called off as heavy snow hits the UK. Our match with Birmingham was officially called off before lunch time and judging by the news footage at St Andrews, it came as no surprise. The match will most likely be re-scheduled into the New Year.
What Now For Pardew?
Friday, December 17th, 2010Alan Pardew has been given the opportunity to put together the transfer list he wants. Obviously, the money won’t be there in spades but he’ll have to consider selling players to make up any shortfall. Potentially names to exit include Steven Taylor who is still going through difficult contract negations which seem to end up going nowhere. [...]
Pardew’s Era Starts With Outstanding Win
Saturday, December 11th, 2010It was bound to happen, no matter how unlikely as it would seem. Alan Pardew came into St James’ Park with the tiniest of fanfares but would he leave a legacy felt for years to come? On today’s evidence, it’s still anybody’s guess but a 3-1 win over Liverpool is nothing to be scoffed at. [...]
CONFIRMED- Alan Pardew: Manager of Newcastle United
Thursday, December 9th, 2010Today, Alan Pardew has been officially put in place as manager of Newcastle United on a 5 year contract which will see him in place until 2016. This news comes as a poll yesterday asked fans who they favoured put only 2% surveyed as liking Pardew. But now with everything signed, we can’t do much [...]
Ashley’s Grand Plan To Backfire?
Wednesday, December 8th, 2010If rumours are true, Martin Jol has already had discussions with NUFC and all is not well. Again, speculation here but the deal is all based on team performance which is not going down well with the Dutchman. Clueless Mike Ashley may have to hedge his bets on Alan Pardew who is apparently desperate for [...]
New Manager Installed By The Weekend?
Tuesday, December 7th, 2010It’s little surprise that the media tend to treat Newcastle United with some derision but in this case they have a point. Ashley’s knee-jerk reaction would probably knock a lot of confidence from the team already trying to climb a tight table. Hughton exited the stage yesterday but had all the dignity as you would expect [...]
Martin Jol Leaves Ajax – Could be Significant for Newcastle United?
Monday, December 6th, 2010More of an update on the previous post I did. Rumours abound that Martin Jol has left Ajax by mutual consent and could be heading towards Newcastle. I suspected that Ashley couldn’t make the same mistake twice (or possibly three times) and was probably negotiating something secretly behind the scenes. So would we be welcoming Jol back [...]
Pardew Lines Up For Vacant Newcastle Post
Monday, December 6th, 2010Seems like the dust hasn’t even settled and names are being lined up. Alan Pardew has expressed ‘strong interest’ in the post making him favourite in the online betting sites to take over as manager. Here is the potential list as it stands: Alan Pardew Alan Curbishley Martin O’Neil Lee Clark Would someone from a [...]
Hughton Joins A Long List Of Sacked Managers
Monday, December 6th, 2010Complacency was probably a key factor in the the defeat against West Brom on Sunday. We were below par and West Brom aren’t exactly a push over this season. However today’s news comes as a bit of a shock to me. Hughton has only picked up two points in 5 matches but does he deserve to [...]
