Cardiff Falls But Andy Carroll Faces Charges
By Dave NU Blogger | February 8, 2010
After a busy weekend of major football fixtures, Newcastle United stand 3 points ahead with a fantastically important win over Cardiff. Not only did Friday night’s match prove too much for Cardiff , the team managed to score 5 goals with Andy Carroll being instrumental on the night. It took three minutes for Carroll to break the deadlock. All six new players were fielded and they provided a lot of quality crosses particularly from Routledge. Lovenkrands provided two more goals in the second half. Overall a brilliant night for the Mags.
However, some storm clouds on the horizon as today, Carroll has been charged today for a fracas that happened last year in December. The incident involved a reveller inside the Blu Bambu club in Newcastle’s Bigg Market. He’ll be put before magistrates at the end of the month. If found guilty, it could mean community service or a short prison term for the 21 year old.
