Thanks Ed – A Tribute Post

I’d like to pay tribute to a fellow Newcastle United blogger that decided to shut up shop yesterday. Ed Harrison ran www.nufcblog.com since 2007 and as I remember he launched a couple of months before I did in that same year. Like me, he saw that Newcastle United fans weren’t properly catered for in the blogging department. Ed was able to report the same troubling experiences as I did since Ashley took over the club in 2007 – everything from Sam Allardyce, Keegan and the drop into the Championship. He kept fans informed and up to speed with the latest news. Although I couldn’t match his work rate on his blog , I can fully understand that owning a footie blog (especially a blog about Newcastle United!) and juggling a full time job is not something that I recommend to anyone.
I sincerely wish Ed best of luck with whatever he intends to do and hopefully one day we might see him back on the blogging scene in the distant future.

I would also just like to thank Ed for everything, since the day i found NUFCBLOG.COM in 2007 not a day went by that i didnt pay it a visit whether it was at home, at work or on my mobile. Im very sad to see that Ed has closed down but as one era ends another begins and hopefully Dave wil be able to quench my thirst for Toon News as well as Ed did. up for the challenge Dave? lol

i echo the sentiments above. i used to visit Ed’s site everyday. only found this site after his closed down. so the challenge is there Dave. can u handle it?

http://www.nufcblog.com was a fantastic resource without a doubt and a big pair of shoes to fill. However, I’ll make sure that this site remains a good read for fellow fans. The thing is I don’t report on every scrap of news ( I leave that to other sites) but I like to think hopefully that I make insightful comments. The success of this and any blog also relies on comments and rumour news messages from users so keep ‘em coming!
