Where’s A Beach Ball When You Need One!
By Dave NU Blogger | October 19, 2009
Lucky Sunderland goals aside, the weekend saw another away defeat for Newcastle and leaves us equal on points but beaten on goal difference with West Brom. As much as I’m in denial about weaknesses, our paper thin squad is starting to wobble. I still have high hopes that we’ll be still in a high table position by Christmas but its clear that some things need to change.
Whether or not that change will happen at the highest point ie. Ashley is a something that is still up for debate. If Mike Ashley can stablise results, promotion could mean a much better asking price. We’re still top of the table (not very comfortably though) and Ashley could inject cash to fund more loan signings and win the Championship league. However, thinking about it, next summer could well mean another round of this long drawn out sales process! We shall see. Rumours today suggest Ashley is much keener to dump the club on Moat. He’s now apparently lowered the asking price by £20m to £80m. Could Ashley be getting a little jittery about recent defeats?
